researched the effect of specific chemicals, occurring naturally in various
food/plant sources, on specific biochemicals partly responsible for fat
metabolism and energy expenditure have concluded the following: |

Green Tea Extract (95% Polyphenols)

Increased the action of Noradrenaline and the
potential to increase fat loss. Dulloo, et,al,,1999. Dulloo, et,al,,2000

Combining polyphenols with caffeine may increase the action of Noradrenaline
alone. Dulloo, et,al, 1999. Dulloo, et,al, 2000

Recent studies indicate that a green tea extract can increase thermogenesis
and promote fat oxidation beyond that explained by its caffeine alone
(Dulloo, et al., 1999). Thermogenesis and fat oxidation are controlled
by the sympathetic nervous system and its neurotransmitter norepinephrine
(NE). The catechin polyphenols found in green tea act to inhibit catechol-O-methyl-transferase
(the enzyme responsible for degrading NE) (Dulloo, et al.,) resulting
in a prolonged effect of NE on thermogenesis and fat metabolism (Dulloo,
et al., 1999).
Forskohili (Forskolin Ext)

Had a direct effect on T3
to stimulate the metabolic rate. J Med Chem.1993, 26, 436- 439
Structure Activity Re of Adenylate Cyclase by Forskolin & its derivatives.
KB Seamon J.W. Daily. et al.
Forskolin is valued as an adenylate cyclase activator. Adenylate
cyclase is the enzyme involved in the production of cAMP. Cyclic AMP induces a
chain of biochemical events that trigger an increase in protein kinase. This,
in turn, activates hormone sensitive lipase (which is involved in the breakdown
of triglycerides) to stimulate the release of fatty acids from body fat. These
liberated fatty acids from body fat can be burned for energy, thus helping you
lose fat weight.
Chromium chelate

 Chromium is an essential trace
mineral required for normal protein, fat, and carbohydrate metabolism. Research
shows that the typical diet is low in chromium, and that chromium supplements
can often help control blood sugar. The correct regulation of blood sugar can
assist in promoting weight loss.
Caffeine
(Extracted from Guarana)

 Inhibits Adenosine (camp) to create
lyptopic (fat burning) and metabolic boosting via the actions of
Noradrenaline. Colker, C Cur thir res res.. 60.
Early research by David Costill in the late 1970’s
suggested that caffeine increases levels of epinephrine (pronounced
ep-in-eff-rin) (Costill, et al., 1978), serving to increase the number of fat
calories burned for energy. In fact, there is evidence that caffeine can
increase the number of fat calories used for energy by around 30% (Spriet,
1995). Because the muscles have more fat to use, carbohydrate metabolism is
reduced. Specifically, increases in muscle citrate, acetyl-CoA, and
glucose-6-phosphate act to inhibit phosphofructokinase, pyruvate dehydrogenase,
and hexokinase, respectively.
Although many individuals believed that coffee or tea will have
the same effect, there is evidence suggesting that coffee does not offer the
same beneficial effects as caffeine (Graham, et al., 1998). It appears that
some component of coffee interferes with the performance enhancing effects of
caffeine. This isn’t surprising, considering that when coffee beans are
roasted, ground, and extracted in hot water, there are literally hundreds of
other compounds dissolved along with caffeine.
